Integrative Nutrition

How Integrative Nutrition helped me shed excess pounds, heal my thyroid and ezcema, and leap into a life that I love

When I enrolled in the Health Coach Training Program at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, I was working at a job where I felt dissatisfied, and I had a negative relationship with my body. My “secret eating” of cookies and sweets helped cover up my emotions, and helped keep me stuck in the land of “if only.” If only I could release the excess pounds, find a better job, go on vacation, learn to relax, etc.. everything would be perfect.

By going through the program, I learned about my own bio-individuality, and realized that certain foods were hurting me in more ways than one. I was tired and depressed with an underactive thyroid, and I had extremely itchy and cracked hands from eczema. This was compounded by underlying food sensitivities, especially to gluten and sugar, and a deficiency in healthy fats. By gradually shifting my diet to a gluten-free slow/low carb eating plan, I cleared up my eczema, revitalized my thyroid, shed excess pounds, and felt so much better.

Plus, it helped me shape my career path so that I am excited to get out of bed in the morning. Helping people find foods that work for them so they can soar into a life they love is so satisfying.
