Apparently sugar is back in style. This New York Times article reports that many food manufacturers are swapping high fructose corn syrup for cane sugar.
I love the quote in this article about sugar being something “natural” and that it’s in fruit. What’s scary about this is that people may actually believe that sugar is ok or even good for you because it’s “natural”.
Sugar in fruit with its nutrients intact is way different than refined white cane sugar with all of its nutrients stripped away.
Sugar is still sugar. It will still rot your teeth, give you mood swings, mess up your skin, and feed all kinds of diseases in your body. This is no April fool’s joke – just ask Connie at Sugar Shock. She’ll tell you all about it.
